OCAP Lab block diagram UniSoft offers an OCAP Lab. system which is suitable developing, testing and ultimately deploying OCAP applications.

A typical configuration consists of a TSPlayer, TSBroadcaster and OCAP SFG. TSBroadcaster may be installed on a separate server or it may use TSPlayer as the host. Output of TSPlayer is ASI to a QAM modulator producing an RF output suitable for reception by OCAP terminals. Multiple OCAP terminals may be supported by RF-splitting the output of the QAM and directing to each OCAP box.

This system is particularly suitable for:

  • MSOs wishing to develop and test bound and unbound applications.
  • Cable Networks who wish to develop, test and uplink bound OCAP applications.
  • CE manufacturers working on an OCAP implementation or developing OCAP applications.
  • Software developers writing OCAP applications.

Full deployment of unbound applications requires integration into the cable headend, since these require out-of-band signaling via an XAIT (eXtended Application Information Table). TSBroadcaster includes support for both in-band and out-of-band delivery of XAITs. A guide to setting up an OCAP Lab is available upon request.
