DSG and other OOB Delivery

The Out-of-Band TSPlayer (TSOOBPlayer) provides enhanced facilities for XAIT and OOB object carousel delivery for S&T's TSBroadcaster. TSOOBPlayer features include:
  • XAIT delivery through DSG broadcast tunnels type 5
  • XAIT delivery via S&T's OOB Transfer Interface supported by Scientific-Atlanta DNCS System Release 4
  • CVT and XAIT delivery via S&T's OOB Transfer Interface supported by the Motorola DAC 2.97 and DAC 3.1
  • DSM-CC object carousels through DSG application tunnels
  • DSM-CC object carousels through traditional OOB (QPSK) for DNCS systems
  • Regional delivery of XAITs to multiple headends via CableLabs "OCAP Headend Common Download and Unbound Application Signaling Interface Specification OC-SP-OHI-I01-061208. This interface is a derivative of the above OOB Transfer Interface.
  • DSG delivery may be unicast or multicast

TSOOBPlayer is an additional product which is installed on either a TSBroadcaster or TSPlayer system. In the case of TSBroadcaster, version 1.05 or later is required. We recommend running one TSOOBPlayer for each TSPlayer system you have installed.

TSOOBPlayer provides real-time status monitoring so that you can easily view the status of each connection it is handling. In addition, the product provides a simple interface for viewing for the system log files.

Multple Transport Streams

When TSBroadcaster manages and delivers multiple transport streams, we recommend TSPlayer systems with up to two outputs each with no TSPlayers on the TSBroadcaster host for instances of 3 or more streams. For example a 5 transport stream output should be achieved with:

  • One TSBroadcaster, no outputs
  • Three TSPlayers, two with two outputs each
  • 3 TSOOBPlayers, on on each TSPlayer system.

Inputs

  • Configure TSOOBPlayer to receive input from TSBroadcaster
  • Under "OOB OC", add the names of the streams containing OOB Object Carousels that you want to play out
  • Under "XAIT", add the names of the streams containing XAITs that you want to play out
OOB OC Outputs
  • S-A DBDS delivery: providing a name, list of address destinations (one per line) and TTL value
  • DSG output: name, list of <address>:<port> destinations (one per line) and TTL value
XAIT Outputs
  • Transfer Interface Output: name and HTTP URL
  • DSG Output: name, list <address>:<port> destinations (one per line) and TTL value
  • Web Service Outputs for the DAC
