S&T's TSDeveloper is an ETV-EBIF and tru2way (OCAP) development version of TSBroadcaster but designed to be more suitable for the content authoring community. TSDeveloper builds and plays-out MPEG-2 transport streams containing in-band applications. Its output is limited to QAM modulated RF rather than ASI or GbE. TSDeveloper has optional unbound application support (out-of-band), which is available upon request. The are cost benefits in using TSDeveloper in a lab development environment as an alternative to TSBroadcaster. TSDeveloper is packaged on a 1RU Linux server as is TSBroadcaster. Various configurations exist, but the default configuration provides ETV and tru2way (OCAP) support with four QAM outputs. The ETV version builds DSM-CC data carousels and Alternative Constrained Data Carousels for the carriage of EBIF applications. The OCAP version generates DSM-CC object carousels for OCAP application delivery. Since the output of TSDeveloper is QAM, it can be connected directly to one or multiple ETV or OCAP receivers and no modulator is required.
As with TSBroadcaster, TSDeveloper servers are accessed by a web browser. Both signed and unsigned OCAP applications are supported by TSDeveloper. You can use OCAP SFG to generate signed OCAP applications. |
