DigiHost for OCAP DigiSoft

DigiHost is a headend application server for OCAP and other middleware standards. [View DigiHost Block Diagram].

It consists of sub-systems for management of interactive TV applications, and handles the server-side of applications which communicate back to DigiHost via the return channel. DigiHost interfaces with a large number of third party transaction gateways. The type of services provided by these external parties include SMS text messaging, e-mail, payment processing, travel reservations and access to numerous databases.

The preferred play-out system for DigiHost is TSBroadcaster. DigiHost can connect to a large number of play-outs which makes it suitable for managing OCAP application transmission over a large number of cable headends.

DigiHost is supplied with a Software Development Kit (SDK), making it easy to call DigiHost features from OCAP applications. A wide selection of standard DigiHost applications are also available.

DigiHost provides a Zap-Tracking feature which allows the operator to record channel changes made by the viewer and pass this data back to the headend. DigiHost's report and profiling sub-systems can be used to analyze the information received producing customised viewer ratings. Zap-Tracking requires a small code module to be installed on the OCAP receiver.

There is extensive support for Interactive Advertisements. Users can maintain advertising customers, their adverts and their campaigns, billing information and view advert usage statistics.
