UniSoft offers a complete set of headend software for encoding and transmission of OCAP, MHP and ETV applications. These products easily integrate into existing digital cable headends, providing MSOs and cable operators the ability to transmit OCAP and ETV applications in the lab or live. An OCAP development environment is also available.

The OCAP headend software available from UniSoft provides creation of DSM-CC object carousels, transport stream encoding and scheduled play-out of content. Those OCAP applications which require access to restricted resources, as defined in the CableLabs' OpenCable Security Specification, are authenticated using OCAP SFG

In addition to bound application transmission, unbound OCAP application support is provided, requiring generation of eXtended Application Information Tables (XAITs), which are sent to either a Scientific-Atlanta DNCS headend or Motorola DAC for out-of-band delivery via TSOOBPlayer. DSG delivery is also supported requiring connection to a CMTS supporting Advanced Mode DSG.

A summary of the products are provided below:

TSBroadcaster Headend software for automatic scheduled encoding and play out of OCAP, MHP and ETV content. It manages creation and definition of transport streams, real time updates to application data, multiple transport stream play out and bandwidth allocation.

TSPlayer Play out of transport streams over a variety of standard interfaces, including Ethernet, into a broadcast multiplex.

TSOOBPlayer

An out-of-band TSPlayer system used by TSBroadcaster to deliver XAITs and CVTs to DSG broadcast tunnels and DSM-CC object carousels to DSG application tunnels. TSOOBPlayer also supports a number of other out-of-band delivery mechanisms.

TSMux

A real time audio / video / data multiplexor that can take several transport stream files and sockets as input, outputting a single MPEG-2 transport stream at a nominated rate.

DigiHost

OCAP headend application management system. Adminsters development and delivery of OCAP apps, and essential for applications which use the return channel to communicate to various transaction gateways, including messaging (SMS, MMS, e-mail), secure payment and database access.
