TSBroadcaster is a broadcast server which automatically encodes and plays out MHP applications according to a defined schedule. It is suitable for live transmission or lab use. [View screen shot of TSBroadcaster]. Features include:

  1. creation and definition of multiple MHP transport streams
  2. application definition and scheduling
  3. real time updates to application data, via ftp, HTTP, file or database
  4. multiple transport stream play out
  5. bandwidth allocation
  6. creation and management of multiple object carousels
  7. injection of stream events

TSBroadcaster servers are accessed by a web browser. All aspects of TSBroadcaster's functionality can also be accessible via an API. This allows easy intgeration with other other headend software.

Multiple DSM-CC object carousels can be created containing multiple applications in addition to MPEG PSI and DVB SI.

TSBroadcaster connects to one of more TSPlayer systems, each controlling a single transport stream broadcast. For play out of a single multi-service transport stream, TSBroadcaster is usually installed on the TSPlayer system. In instances when TSBroadcaster is required to manage multiple transport stream broadcasts, there are a variety of options available.

Resilency should also be a factor to consider. TSBroadcaster can connect to a resilent pair of TSPlayers providing fail safe operation for live broadcaster environments.

Both signed and unsigned MHP applications are supported by TSBroadcaster. For signed (authenticated) applications, the appropriate hash, certificate and signature files are created by MHP SFG prior to generation of the object carousel.

A variety of data update features are available. For example, whilst an application set is being broadcast, TSBroadcaster can monitor the URLs defined in the appliction set "Manage Updates" section. When the contents pointed to by the URL change, the appropriate files in the object carousel will be updated.
