UniSoft offers software necessary for the development of MHP and OCAP applications and content. Subsequently, other DTV middleware standards will become supported, as and when, they become more established.

The development tools are targeted primarily towards content providers, software suppliers, broadcasters and DTV middleware implementers.

TSBroadcaster creates a entire transport stream, including OCAP SI (or DVB-SI), MPEG-PSI, AITs, XAITs (for the OCAP version) and multiple object carousels, allowing authors to easily transmit an application under test to the receiver. TSBroadcaster is essentially a mini-headend. In addition, it supports a multiple number of application authors using a standard web browser to connect over TCP/IP to the TSBroadcaster server.

The TSBroadcaster server plays out a multi-service single transport stream via an ASI interface, using TSPlayer, typically a SunFire V240 or HP Proliant DL380 running RedHat Linux, to an appropriate modulator and finally to the set top box. The server incorporates a subset of the object carousel generator, SoftOC.

The number of services played out can be modified easily by TSBroadcaster. TSBroadcaster is supplied with a pre-configured set of services including some sample audio and video content.

In addition, UniSoft offers the MHP Security File Generator (MHP-SFG) tool, which creates all the required files for authentication of MHP/OCAP applications which uses features outside the MHP "sandbox" such as the return channel or persistent storage.
